I’d like my crayons back, please

I've been following Hugh MacLeod's blog, gapingvoid.com, for a little over a year now and always enjoy the cartoons he draws on the back of business cards. About a week or so ago he released his first book, "Ignore Everybody and 39 Other Keys to Creativity" and I can't speak highly enough of it. As...

Central Park

Arrived in NYC yesterday for Personal Democracy Forum and took a walk in Central Park before meeting friends for dinner and drinking at some old campaign haunts. I really love street musicians - especially saxophones - and when I saw this man and this light I was really excited.

Alaska Photo Book

Rather than bombard you all with tons and tons of my Alaska photos I decided to try out iPhoto's photo book feature and make a book of my favorites. You can view them below. Enjoy! Alaska Photo BookView more presentations from Katie Harbath.

More Alaska

Put some more pictures up from Alaska - these of our first day of hiking in Denali. I can't say enough good things about the folks at Camp Denali and North Face that guided us on the hikes and took care of us. It was really top notch. If you're ever looking to go hiking...

John Hodgman at #NerdProm2

If you're as obsessed with the Mac vs PC ads as I am you'll enjoy John Hodgman's speech at the Radio and TV Correspondents dinner.

Return from the wild

Sadly I have returned from Alaska. It was an amazing trip and by the end I was trying to figure out a way I could convince the folks we stayed with at North Face Lodge that they really needed to hire me to do their web stuff. :) I took over 1000 pictures while in...

Alaska – Days 1, 2 and 3

Trust me, this is a VERY small portion of photos I've already taken on our three days here. I'm up to at least 400 and that's just ones I deemed ok to keep on the memory card and didn't delete straight from the camera. Internets here are pretty slow and I'm guessing tomorrow I'll totally...

Into the Wild

As many of you know, starting tomorrow morning I will embark on a 10 day journey to Alaska. My parents and I are going whale watching in Kenai and hiking in Denali national park. I cannot describe how excited I am. I might post pictures along the way, I might not. Depends on my Internet...

Woman takes down robber with 12 pack

This woman is my hero. I'm not even sad a 12 pack of Miller lite had to be broken when she threw it at and hit the robber's head.

The Art of the Leak

My Media Bullseye column for this month went up yesterday and it's on something that's bugged me for some time - the art of the leak and how most communications and public relations professionals fail to utilize the Internet enough in executing them. Mainly I say that in the day and age of Twitter you...

How online video should be done

While I'm not a die hard Southwest flyer (they only fly into Milwaukee) they consistently impress me with their use of social media. Not only is their Twitter account informational and funny the way they rolled out their latest ad campaign should be a case study of how it should be done. Yes, they put...
