Library of Congress
I'm incredibly lucky that when I need to walk back to work from a meeting on the House side of the Capitol I have tons of things to do some quick pictures of. Today I was double lucky in that I was walking back during sunset and grabbed this HDR of the Library of Congress....
I’m on Etsy!
Inspired by a former co-worker of mine who created his own Etsy account to try and sell his photos I have decided to do the same thing. If you haven't checked out Etsy.com before go now. It is a site where anyone can create a store and you can find all sorts of handmade, unique...
Old Ebbitt Grill
One of my favorite bars in Washington is the historic Old Ebbitt Grill by the White House. It has three different bars, but the back bar is my favorite - and now they have PBR in cans! It's a little taste of home.
Union Station HDR
Last night was one of the best sunsets ever in DC and I didn't go outside to take pictures. I'm still kicking myself. I had a hunch that with the clouds, etc it might be a good one and then I saw this beautiful picture from @californiadcgirl of the Capitol she took with her iPhone....
An apple a day…
Not sure if it's because I love the color green or what, but I've been wanting to do a still life photo of a granny smith apple for awhile so here it is. Shot it in a homemade light box with my SB600 flash.
Stone Street – New York City
If you ever make a visit to NYC and want somewhere different to try hop in a cab or the subway and make your way down to Stone Street. It's a few blocks from the Wall Street bull between South William and Pearl streets. In the summers there are tables outside for you to drink...
Pass and Stowe
Today's daily pic comes from Union Station where for some reason I don't remember noticing this replica of the liberty bell out front until I was walking back to work yesterday after getting a snack and needed something to take a photo of. I figure better late than never. :)
Times Square HDR
Having gotten and read Trey Ratcliff's A World in HDR Book I was excited to try some HDR on my own. This is one of my first, I did a lot of things wrong with it (daytime, manually did the various exposures, no tripod, sky not the best) but thanks to photoshop, lightroom and topaz...
Disney for photographers
While I was in New York this weekend I took a break and headed over to B&H Photo - Disney World for photographers. This was one well oiled machine. I was in and out in under 10 minutes - getting what I wanted and out before I found myself spending way too much money. Because...
Before and after – Holgate Glacier
When I really picked my photography hobby back up last year, I didn't may much attention to post processing. It wasn't that I didn't have the software - I have photoshop - but I was happy just letting iPhoto do the work. Then, as I've mentioned before, part of this year's resolutions was to do...
