Twittering Representatives

This is cool. Micah at TechPresident writes about Rep. John Culberson from Texas who has a twitter account (@johnculberson)and twitters from the floor. He uses it to keep in touch with third parties like Sunlight and to keep folks updated with what's happening on the floor. More members need to be doing this.

Charlie Wilson's War is a must see

Charlie Wilson's WarIf you haven't seen Charlie Wilson's War yet, stop reading this blog this instant and go rent or buy it. It's that good. Based on a true story, the acting is top notch (exactly what you'd expect of Hanks, Roberts and Hoffman), the writing is witty and fast paced (exactly what you'd expect of Sorkin) and the story-line is compelling. I first saw it in the theaters while I was still in NYC (which made the few Giuliani references in the movie that much more fun) and again here on DVD. You don't need to be a political junkie to like it, but if you are one, you're going to like it just that much more because you'll get more of the jokes.

Well, that was just stupid

You know the GOP is in really in serious trouble when this is the sort of things it's candidates for Congress are doing. I mean really? This guy really thought this was a good idea?
